tottal lack of intrest

I was wondering if medication im taking maybe effecting my desire to have sex.
I am tottaly not intrested and that is so not like me.I take effexor and mertasipine.(im sure there not spelled right)
Im very worried about this because im married and it was a big part of us.Now i have to force myself.
Anythoughts or ideas would be great to hear.

I have talked to my doctor about it he told me to take half of the medication and then iwould only not want to have sex half the time. He was joking of course.I will look up welbutrin ty for the replay

Hi, if they are antidepressants, it can have these side effects (reduction of libido, inorgasmia etc...) and you are absolutely right - it can have very dangerous consequences for your sex life and marriage. So I would recommend to see your doctor who prescribed it and tell him about these problems you have.
No need to be ashamed or embarrassed, these side effects are well-known in case of antidepressants and there are many other types of antidepressants which hopefully do not have these side effects. My friend had similar bad experience and when she asked her doctor about it, he prescribed another medicine (called Welbutrin) and the problems disappeared completely.
Your reaction is normal and a good doctor should be able to help you find something without these antisexual side effects.
