chocking while asleep

I am awaked about twice a week because i am choking I dont know what is causing this when i wake up I cant get my breath it is almost like I threw up and it went into my lungs I have a hard time trying to breath and it is starting to scare the hell out of me. I am afraid that I might not catch it since I am on alot of perscription meds. What should I do and how do I explain it to a doctor? What do you think it is?

If Mike320's suggestions don't work, consider getting tested for obstructive sleep apnea. Stopping breathing can literally vacuum up your stomach juices into your throat.

it's called GERD, need to go on meds right away, see a doctor and tell him you have severe GERD. the acid and food that enters your lungs can kill you.
one thing you have to do is make your last meal at 6PM, drink lots of water, no snacks, loose weight, check and see if you're diabetic, ever have TBI, and sleep with 2-3 pillows for the first few months. do not drink coffee, soda or beer, no Buffalo hot wings and exercise more, walking is good.

I've been there to, change of diet, on meds my lungs were scarred but doing much better. it cannot be cured only controled.
