IUI today -- will you say a little prayer for me?

I've been ttc for 1 year and I honestly did not think that it would be so difficult.  I never wanted kids with my EX, but now I'm with a wonderful man and I know he will make a great Daddy.  Its my mission to get pregnant now; yet I'm starting to lose hope that it will happen.  I'm approaching my 46th birthday soon so I hear the clock ticking quite loudly.
Its only in the last 3 cycles that I am under the care of a RE. (I wish my gyn would have referred me sooner!)  Today I go for my 3rd iui.  One follicle.  The difference with this month is that the follicle is on the right side, whereas the last 2 were on the left side.  I hope this brings me luck!  I want this to happen.

Hi Carolyn,

I just saw this thread, I have been on the other site.  I've been chatting with Melanie.  I am SOOOOO praying she gets a positive!!!!  She will give all of us inspiration.  I too am 45 (February) and waited late in life to try.  My RE just like yours said my eggs are no good and they pushed donor eggs on me.  My problem is on Jan 25th I did get pregnant, carried for 4 month 2 weeks and three days.  Unfortunately she had a large omphalocele and her heart was on the right side of her chest....fatal birth defect.  You cannot begin to imagine my heart break when I had to terminate. She would not have made her 1st breath.  So now just 2 months later I want to try again.   There is hope so don't you ever give up. I cry every day..have good days and bad days...but I will not give up.  I was told the same info as you and look what happened to me.  The bitter sweet part of this ordeal is NOW I know I can get pregnant and CARRY!!  I went to the RE because like you my eggs are getting older so I don't have the luxury of TIME!!!  I figured if I found a GREAT RE I could do IVF and get pregnant right away.  Right now the difficulty I am having is finding one who will do it with my eggs.  I found several places for $25,000.00 however every blog site I can find I keep asking all these women "WHO IS YOUR RE AND WOULD YOU RECCOMMEND THEM", besides melanie...who has benn very honest about her RE, I keep getting advice on different places but NONE on personal successes or even stories that they LOVE who they are going to.

So until I find that perfect RE, I will continue to write on all these sites until someone our age can give me absolute hope.

Keep me posted on your progress, I will keep cehcking here and on the other blog.

Thank you, Melanie -- you give me hope!   BTW, I've read that many women get their BFP after an HSG so maybe this is true in your case.  :)   C

Don't give up just yet, it only takes 1! I've been using 150iu of gonal-f for all 4 of my iui's, I had a HSG last month due to my tubal reversal in September and all is clear. Last May we did an ivf but had a bfn, then an fet and bfn, soi kinda did it backwards..lol. My re said my chances are the same with ivf and iui but iui is cheaper and we can do as many as we want!
Keep your Chin up, they told me my DH has 0% morphology, I haven't explained that to him yet! I'm praying one gets there though!
Hugs and baby dust to you,

Hi Melanie --
Thanks for the welcome!
I feel for you -- the 2 ww is horrible!    I hope & pray that you get your BFP!
When will you find out?   Where you on clomid?

I'm pretty sure that this month is going to be a BFN for me.  His count was looooooow (200,000!)  The doctor asked if he had a fever recently or an illness...and he wasn't feeling well the day before (Friday) so I guess that did him in.   The doctor tried to give me hope by saying that he has seen women get a BFP on a low count, but I have my doubts!
They offered to so another iui yesterday but with a house full of people coming....we opted to just try on our own.   Its so frustrating!

Keep me posted!  :)

I pray this works for you, I will be 45 in June and I'm in my 2ww with iui #4. So far I'm convinced I got my BFP, I don't want to be disappointed anymore! I'm praying for you, try to stay positive and keep me posted!
Tons and tons of baby dust sprinkled upon you!
