teen depression.. i need help

i'm 18 and for the last 3 years i've suffered from something like depression.. i lost interest for something i used to love like movies and video game.. i cant feel happy or pleasure from anything. i lost sex interest and i feel like an abnormal.. sometimes i feel guilt and sadness all the day.. the thought of suicide shaded my mind all the day.. what should i do then?

well, i've asked to psychiatrist about those symptoms and he gave me some anti depressants but it doesnt help much.. btw thx a lot megarama

Hi Daniel! I'm so sorry to hear you are feeling so sad. First, remember you are not alone. Also remember that feelings pass. When you're sad it feels like you will feel sad forever. It sounds like you may be suffering from dysthymia (which is a kind of depression) or major depression. The loss in interest in things that used to be pleasurable is a tell tale sign.

SO... have you been to a doctor? have you seen a therapist? do you you have a friend or family member you can talk to?

It is so important to have support, so posting the message you posted here right now is a great place to start.

What you are going through, millions of others have experiences in their own ways. There are things that can help out there, though it may not seem like it know, there are.

Take care of yourself! Love yourself! Therapists are awesome, I highly recommend it.
