telling the parents.

I recently took a home pregnancy test and it came out positive. I've been freaking out for the last couple days, really unsure what to do. I know I should inform my parents, but I'm terrified to do so. Any ideas on how to break it to them easy? I feel stupid for getting myself knocked up. I am a straight A student, and on a scholarship. I should've been more careful. I know my parents have very high expectations of me, so this information will just kill them. Any suggestions!?! I'm really scared.

You can't protect him. He helped to create the baby he has to take the consequences that go along with it. How old is he? How old are you?

Well he is 6 years older, so in the beginning they didn't like him, but they do like him now after getting to know him. Though with this news, I'm not sure if they'll have the same feelings toward him. I feel like having him there would help me, but I feel like protecting him at the same time. I'm not sure what to do.

That depends. Do your parents like him? If not I'd have to say no. It could just make things worse. If they do like him and you think it could help then yes have him be there.

Thanks. My boyfriend offered to come along to tell them with me. Do you think that's a good idea? or should I tell them on my own. I called to make an appointment and have one for next week, Tuesday.

Just sit them down and tell them. There is no easy way. Then you can discuss a plan. Whether you're going to keep and raise the baby or adoption. Either way you'll need to get into an ob/gyn asap. The earlier you get started on prenatals and getting prenatal care the better for the baby.

Good luck.
