lobsided mandible

my grandaughter's lower jaw is not horizontal - she will be 2 next month - there is an obvious gap between her upper jaw and her lower jaw on the left side only - the right side is normal - it may be getting progressively worse - I'm deligently trying to find an explanation - imput would be appreciated

Thank you, I'm in Naples, FL - my grandaughter lives in Indianapolis.  Because she will be here again next month, I have scheduled an appointment with an oral surgeon here in Naples (one with whom I am familiar).  Obviously at some point she'll need to be seen in Indianapolis.  I'm just trying to find some reference somewhere addressing this problem - as of yet I've found nothing close.

My suggestion would be to have your grandaughter examined by a pedodontist and orthodontist.  This sounds like a possible growth and developmental problem with the mandibular condyle or TMjoint.  I'm sure an oral surgeon will need to be consulted as well. What area are you in?  Sounds like you need some expert opinions.  TMJDoc
