TMJ?

I am a 41 year old female.  About a year ago I began to experience random severe pain (electric like) on the right side of my face from temple to jaw and a few times in my mouth, affecting my tounge (like pins and needles)  About 6 months ago I began experiencing a weird "trigger point" over my right ear just behind temple.  wind blowing, light touches, washing combing hair and sleeping on that side cause my face to ache. It has become more than an annoyance at this point and I have an appt. with my doc next week.  Just wondering if these symptoms fit with TMJ, as I know that I clench my teeth.  Thanks for any insight.

Your descriptions suggest trigeminal neuralgia. Seeing a neurologist or orofacial pain specialist is advised.

It could be TMJ. Can also be high blood pressure or precursor to migraines.
Hope they find out what it is for sure. Best of luck to you.
