A TSH of 2.80 is often considered normal, but it is a wee bit high and could cause symptoms.
On the other hand, your next test could show it lower or higher.
Repeat testing in a month, along with a Free T4 and a Free T3 would be prudent.
An Endo may or may not be the next stop. It depends on how adept your attending physician is with thyroid problems.
Do not get backed into a corner with "everything is normal", a shrug and a dismissal. If you have symptoms, they need to be addressed whether a thyroid problem is obvious or not.
Also, if you end up having a discussion about symptoms, try to get the doctor to look at the symptoms as part of one problem.
Treating high cholesterol, anxiety, heart palps and other symptoms with six different perscriptions is not helpful if all the symptoms are coming from one source.
