Really soz you guys to ask again but!

Really sorry because I always seem to be asking for help because I'm new to this. I do try to help other people on their posts but am often lost as to what to say as I have no experience. So I feel guilty to ask about myself again, but I really would value the help from you guys yet again. Those who know me now, know TSH was 4.6 but I'm not getting Tx yet here in the UK and am waiting to see endo. I recently also discovered a small lump too, but still have to wait a wk to see endo! But what I want to ask now is if it's possible to rapidly deteriorate, that is to become really hypothryroid in a short space of time, because I feel really really bad. I'm so tired and exhausted and I feel like crying because I didn't think things could get much worse but they have. The last 2 days I hardly have the energy to climb the stairs and I have an 11 yr daughter to care for which is so hard. I just want to know if it's possible that my TSH could have become much higher in the space of the last 6 wks since I last had it done, to cause this utter exhaustion? Or does it take much longer than that to deteriorate? Once again I thank anyone in advance for any help.

Thanks very much for your comments. I don't feel so guilty now. I am so glad i've found this place. It seems that it is only here that people really understand. Just wish this next week would go quickly. I am literally desperate for the endo appt.

Please, don't ever feel the need to apologize for asking for support versus giving support .. we all have times when we need support and when we are doing better we give support .. nobody judges anybody on this terrific Community and everybody's issues are just as important as the next persons so I am so glad you posted your very good ? .. yet, I am so sorry you have another week to wait to see the Dr.

I agree with Stella's post in that the #'s can change pretty fast ... I have seen it with myself.

It a shame hun- Your MD should of put you on something. But in the UK - things are much different. Just keep your information on hand and make sure you are treated with your MD and your Endo in the best way.

Good Luck

No. I'm not any meds yet, my GP won't do anything until I've seen the endo. So I bet that's what's happened as you say. Because everything has gone upside down this week. First the lump and now this.

I do not remember - are you taking any thryoid meds yet?

If not even the slightiest change in your TSH can have an effect on your thyroid symtpoms so if you your number has gone up even a bit - you may feel a crash.

In case of hypothyroidism it takes monthts to develop severe hypothyroidsm.
If you have chronic autoimmune thyroid condition, you may experience transient "thyroid attack" which lasts about 10 days in most cases (from what I have read).
