Anyone have a cancer recurrence?

I had papillary carcinoma in August 2005 with RAI October 2005.  The doctor seems confident that it is recurring b/c of my thyroglobulin levels.  I am preparing for the scan on the 27th and was wondering who has had recurrence?  What were your thyroglobulin levels?  Any metastasis?  What was treatment?  Surgery again?  Just RAI?

Thanks

Nicki

5 years ago i got thyroid cancer, and had a total thyroidectomy, 1 year  later i had some more removed at my collar bone, i have never felt like myself. every 3 months i would have to go off my thyroid medication  and take tertroxin for 2 weeks then nothing so they could do blood tests, i was just coming up to being all clear and had another test went back on my thyroid pills to be told a week later to stop them they had to do a PET scan,(so i've been off them for nearly 8 weeks) im now waiting for the results of that, but its not looking good. they say im a hard case...my thyroglobulin is very high. I havent been able to find a job cause who would employ someone who gets very sick every 3 months, i cant get sickness benifits cause acording to them im not sick enough. every time i come off my pills i cant walk, i gain weight, get the shakes, feel cold always have hot flushes (and i know its cause im not on the pills) i look like ive swallowed a few tyers and my eyes nearly pop from my head. and all they say is you'll be ok, this happens to every one. what i dont get is it cant be good for the insides, like your kidneys spleen ect.  does any one else feel like this??????
thank you

I had surgeries in 2003 and 2004.  Thyroglobulin and TSH climbing in 2006.  RAI in Nov 2006 for recurrance.  That was the only treatment.  Scheduled for another one this coming fall.  Not fun.
