Are varicose veins related to thyroid disorders?

I was bothered this week by what I think is this issue, but I’m not sure if there’s a connection either.  I’m always concerned about what might be symptoms of thyroid levels getting out of whack.

My legs feel achy and the inner side feels bulgy.  This happens whether I’m on my feet for a while, or whether I’m sitting down.

My mother always had varicose veins and even had to get one out.  So maybe it’s hereditary.

I tried to look for a website to help deal with them but all I find are nonsense advertisements.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome?

Thanks for that.

Interesting you mention magnesium because that's an issue for me and I haven't been taking it as much - think I'll go back to making it a little more routine.  I'll evelate my mattress too.

I don't think so, I think it's hereditary, but sedentarism because of thyroid disease don't help....., may be you need some magnesium. What my cardiovascular doctor told me to do, just put something under your mattress at night to elevate (just a little)  your legs while you're sleeping. During the day always exercise you're legs, elevate you're legs at the end of the day (above then you're heart), put cold water (legs) after you're bath, starting with you're feet.....
