After my pharmacy said they "couldn't get Armour" I was put on a combo of Synthroid and Cytomel that set me back. Getting back on Armour also was not working so well. My daughter reminded me about taking it one hour before breakfast and four hours before other meds.(I had not done this as I was getting up so early to deal with Celiac before work.) This one change made me feel like I was in my twenties before Hashimotos. I have lost 40 pounds without dieting. Cravings have vanished.
Yes, Armour 150 mgs. Switched only since Friday. Still waiting to see what the difference will be.
welcome! Glad to hear you are doing well on Armour....doing well period for that matter! lol Did you have your thyroid removed or do you have hashi's? I know 180 mgs is high dosage, that is why I ask. :)
I am on 90-120mgs alternating. I am now awaiting blood results to see if I can increase again.
I was on Synthroid for 26 years (thryoid removed when I was 8) until this past November. My TSH level was at 21!!! I gained 40+ pounds in 6 months. Could hardly move and certainly couldn't concentrate. My doctor put me on Armour for it's T4/T3 capabilities. It's the first time I've taken it, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear that it's been around much longer than Synthroid. At 180 mg we're working our way down the TSH scale. Last test I was at 4.5 while on 120 mg. Hopefully when I go back in a few weeks I'll be down to 1.5. I doubt I will ever go back on Synthroid. Armour and what it's made of seems to be the best fit for my body.
I've been on Armour for 4 years now. I've been on 180 mg for 3 years. When its adjusted by free t4 and free t3 it works well for many.
I am on 90mgs of Armour and loving it!
I am! 30mgs. Many use Armour.
