Methimazole and Pregnancy, HELP!

I am freaking out. I cant find my IUD string and im scared i may be pregnant. this is a problem because i have graves disease and im on 30mg methimazole and 30 mg proprananol daily. my endo told me methimazole can cause congenital birth defects. i cant get into my gyno till tomorrow, called my endo to tell her i may be pregnant an she told me to stop taking my meds immediately until i confirm with gyno. so im going on day 2 with out my meds and am already feeling my hyper symptoms coming on. heart palpatations and and very anxious(though that could be cause im stressing out too). i guess im just looking for anyone who has any advice or experience with becoming pregnant while on methimazole?

I think you can safely take PTU (another anti-thryoid drug) while pregnant, it doesn't carry the same risk as methimazole during pregnancy.  So, there may be another option for you if you end up being pregnant.  I wish you the best.

i should add that on top of not beng able to find my IUD string, im also experiencing breast tenderness(first symptom i experienced when i was pregnant with my daughter). can breast tenderness be a symptom of beng hyper? i hope so but i doubt it. also ive taken a pregnancy test and it was negative but idk t may be too early for that.
