Beta blockers

Have any of you been on beta blockers for your hashi symptoms if so which ones, also, I have been having frequent attacks, but is it anxiety, or blood pressure actually raising from these attacks? Chest tightness and hearing loud racing pulse in ear. It feels like anxiety?????

I've been on Toprol XL for over a year to control tachacardia.

I had the blood rushing in the ears thing before starting the Toprol, but my blood pressure was never high that I know of. The chest tightness could be anxiety, or acid reflux. I'm on Ranitidine to lower my stomach acid and Alprazolam for anxiety.

I still get chest tightness by times, but the woosh woosh woosh is gone and I haven't had any tachacardia. Once in a while my heart will try to rev up, but it only lasts a second.

You shouldn't need a beta blocker unless you are having tachacardia.

I was put on a beta blocker in 2006 for HTN and increased palpitations.  I haven't been dx with hashi just yet, may find out today.  I'm on Toporol XL (Metoprolol XL) and it works for me.  I think I could have been having sx of hashi in 2006 with a TSH of 4.7 and HTN, but PCP only treated me for HTN.  Go figure.
