The new formulation didnt work sublingually very well. Erfa still works this way....imagine the convenience, food is not a problem.
I read on STTM that they grind it up with honey and take it sublingually, sounds like a big mess.
Interesting. I've read that some people chew it to release the active components and some think it can be absorbed sublingually though I've heard that it is molecularly impossible as well . Don't know.
I believe it was only reformulated one time in the last 5 years, 2009. From what I know they did not change it again or go back to the original. A while after it was reformulated, the FDA stopped production and shipments for several months, many people switched to other brands at that time and never went back. I used the new formulation for several months before it became unavailable nation wide.
It is believed that the new formula which uses micro crystalline cellulose as a filler (Nature Throid changed to that as well), makes the hormone not absorb as well. I had some hypo symptoms return and a lot of brain fog on both of thoses reformulations. Old Armour used dextrose (sugar) as a filler/binder, I felt better on it. Erfa uses dextrose, the new generic (Acella PN) uses dextrose.
