Hyperthyroidism with liver concerns

I was XX with hyperthyroidism on oct 26th my TSH was untraceable my T3 was 4.02 (1.30-3.10) T4 was 150.70 (66.00-181.00) FT4 was 28.07 (12.00-22.00) and FT3 was 11.19 (3.10-6.80) my AST, ALT & GGT levels were all normal.  I started taking Thiamazole (I live in Beijing) at 30mg per day my levels dropped to T3 3.11, T4 124.70, FT4 21.09 and FT3 9.15 but I felt really ill, joint pain was horrendous and my liver tests changed to AST 37 (13-32) ALT 42 (7-35) and GGT 53 (7-36). I stopped taking my medication as I felt so much worse on it, I appreciate my thyroid levels will rise but my liver tests are getting much worse.  I am still gaining weight, have done throughout, my heart is beating way too fast and I am constantly breathless and heat intolerant.  I am now trying the herbal route taking L-carnitine whilst still taking the beta blockers.
Has anyone else had problems with their liver please? Also with the weight gain? I just want to feel better again.
Thanks in advance for your replies
Ruth
