Definately have it checked...If you have it checked and it turns out to be nothing then wonderful...If it turns out to be something than your already on the road to recovery. But by doing nothing you'll never no. Wouldn't you rather over react then not react?????
A heterogeneous thyroid texture can refer to autoimmune thyroid disease. I have Hashimoto's hypothyroidism and my thyroid was described this way on ultrasound.
You need to have a TSH, free t4 and thyroid antibodies (TPOab and TGab) tested to be sure.
Thanks for helping at the Trade Centers. I can't imagine what that was like. I just watched a special on it last night.
You are not over reacting at all. Many things- chemicals included- can mess up aour thyroid.
