Dr Lupo

Dear Dr Lupo
I found out I was hypo 6 months ago.  My Dr said my free T4 was 80 normal range was 93-170.  My TSH was .99, I was stated on 50 mg synthoid.  After 2 months I felt no improvments, had another blood tests and  tests showed 88 T4 THS .27 still feeling bad the dr raised my synthoid to 100.  4 weeks later symtoms getting worse so my dr decided to trouble shoot it and raised my synthoid to 150.  No I feel worse than ever.  1/31/08 my free t4 was 190 and my tsh is 0.01.  med was changed to 125.  Should I ask for cytometol T3 or switch to amour.  I feel so bad with heart palpitations, my hair is still falling out, I have no energy. I am suffering extreme fatigue.  What should I do.

I agree if you want Doctor Lupo to answer reset to the doctor board -

but I have to ask this . why is he raising your meds when you are obviously showing a TSH levels decreasing causing hyperthyroid? I'm I reading that right? It looks like each blood test you took showed a TSH lowering hense - hyperthryoid - I would assume he - as a doctor would lower your med to bring you up to a range of at least 1.0 to 2.5.

I'm confused.

Dr. Lupo generally answers questions on a different board.  You might want to try posting your question there.  http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/120

I wish I was a doctor and could help!
