Hashi's Newbie has Ribs Pushing Out

My left submandibular lymph node has been swollen a couple months, and is about 2cm in diameter now.
Several doctors passed me around like a bag of pretzels without fixing anything.
The ENT first prescribed Voltarin which gave me a wicked headache on the same side of my head as the bad lymph node.
Then they prescribed a Enelbin, an anti-inflammatory sports cream, which made the pain spread to my neck, where it has stayed.
Several blood tests showed no infection to explain the lymph node swelling.
So, I got scared and went to an oncologist, who ran more blood tests, which showed low thyroid function.
Also sent me for a CT scan which showed the enlarged node and inflamed thyroid.
The oncologist referred me to an endocrinologist, who did yet another bleeding sonogram and said I had Hashimotos.
I was prescribed Synthroid and Selenium.
Neither is doing a lot yet to relieve the neck pain.
I have been careful to take the Synthroid on an empty stomach with plenty of water and wait at least an hour before having anything else.
Granted, I have only been on the meds a couple of days.
But, it's pretty damn odd that now it feels like my heart, or spleen is pushing my ribs on the left side outward.
This is really scaring me.
Anybody else felt anything like that?

I am going on an extended voyage soon where medical care is a bit lacking.
Should I see the endocrinologist again soon?

My doc advised me to eat lots of protein, veggies, a few fresh fruits, no sugary drinks, and limit the carbs. I do limit the carbs as I'm gluten-free and feeling much better because of it.

Thanks everyone.
Maybe I am just full of it.
I had the runs earlier in the week and took an immodium.
Maybe that blocked me up.

Also, I have been on Synthroid for 2/12 months. I do feel better but still not as good as I'd like to feel. My doctor will hopefully bump my medication higher in a few weeks.

It may take many months for you to be back to your old self. You have to get enough Synthroid in your body for your pituitary to tell your thyroid to shut down, so the antibodies will ease up on the attack.

This is embarrassing, but are you constipated? I had a similar pain and an X-Ray revealed I was literally full of sh#$!

Hashis get clogged. I take Magnesium three times a day and it helps.

Also, I've gone on the gluten-free diet and I limit my soy and all products containing soy.

Many Hashis do better with low carb/high protein and no gluten.

I notice my stomach swells when I eat gluten.

If you feel this is not your problem, then I'd definitely have a doctor look at it before you go.

Im not sure with what your feeling with your ribs is thyroid related..But you have to give the meds about 8 weeks to start to take an effect..I would see someone again before your trip just to rule out anything else, spesh if you feel its your heart..Dawn
