Hello and welcome,
With the size of your tumors, the variant on your PC, and the vascular invasion I would have thought that they would have given you a consult to an oncologist! Yes, you need the radio-iodine (RAI or I-131) treatment - ASAP. You need your labs checked first for a good baseline - especially your thyroglobulin level (that is your cancer marker). If your endocrinologist doesn't suggest an oncology consult or schedules you for RAI ASAP, insist on it! Discuss using lithium in conjunction with the RAI for a better outcome.
I'd also recommend "Essentials of Thyroid Cancer Management by Amdur and Mazzaferri, Eds" (I bought my copy on Amazon.com). It's a great resource for thyroid cancer patients.
Please, keep us posted.
My best to you
