tests for thyroid

I have a family history of hypothyroid and other thyroid conditions (mother, sister, aunt, niece). My TSH done 5 years ago was normal (2.37) but I would like a more thorough testing to confirm I have no thyroid issues. I am seeing my GP next week. How should I approach this and what should I ask for in terms further testing?

It would depend on what - if any issues you may be experiencing - would they test for.

The tests for thyroid above - is definately what you want to have done.. - but for autoimmune issues - that would depend on what is going on.

Do you have Graves or Hashi in your family history?

I would ask for the TSH, free T3 and free T4.   There are also tests to rule out Graves and Hashimoto's.   If you have a family history I would ask for all of these.
