Fine Needle Aspiration

I had my FNA today.  My doctor told me I have a Multinodular goiter that is marbled.  The main nodule is 1.3 cm with two connected to it.  One of them is 0.7 cm and the one underneath it was 0.9 cm.

Since the procedure, my voice has been very raspy and it's very painful to cough, blow my nose...and even speak or swallow.  It feels like I have something in my throat that I just can't clear out.  Are these normal feelings after this kind of procedure?

I had three fna's in total...and i am a firm believer that, it depends on who performs the fna. My first one, sent we home from work for the day..(i worked in a hospital)..it was horrible. I was in so much pain afterward, i couldn't focus. I was sooo nervous the second  time (2 yrs later), and mentioned it to the surgeon. He explained that he always "numbs" the area before performing the procedure. Due to that, i was ok. The third one was 6mos afterthat, and this surgeon performs it in his office during the visit and it happened so fast, i barely noticed...however, the area swelled a little and was sore for a few hrs afterward, but i was ok...It's normal to be sore up until a day after the procedure..but it will fade away.
