Found answer to symptoms

Well, it's official....not only am I a thyca survivor...now I am in menopause!!! Well, that explains the hot flashes and insomnia.  Like living with the emotional and physical side effects of having thyca these last 5 months wasn't enough...now I get to go through the joys of menopause!!! My PCP has put me on Effexor which is an anti-depressant that for some unknown reason helps with hot flashes.  I've been on it for about 5 days and it seems to be helping.  For those here that have gone through menopause, did you thyroid meds need to be adjusted?

Hi MJ,
I was on a stable dose of levothyrixine for nearly 20 years including pre-menopause, peri-menopause, and menopause. Hope yours goes as easily!
