Gagging/clicking in throat...

Hey all! So I seem to be suffereing from this weird health issue, that apperently only Dr. House could diagnois. Since I was fifteen I have had this constant problem with my throat, that has just become unbareable. I have a painful grinding/clicking feeling in my throat, coughing/gagging fits so bad that I have thrown up because of how hard my throat tightens, difficulty swallowing saliva, and these horrible periods where have shortness of breath and it feels like I am suffocating, as well a general feeling that I need to clear my throat. The breathing problem is espically bad in the morning, shortly after I wake up. I pushed my parents to take me to ever specialists you could imagine to try and find some diagnosis, but no one could ever come up with anything. I've had endoscopys and everything looked normal. I was told that it was just anxiety, but there is no way that the pain I feel in my throat is caused my anxiety. I'm hoping that someone else on this site may have gone through something similar and might know of anything that this could possibly be.

This is a thyroid disorders forum; have you had thyroid hormone tests done to determine whether or not your thyroid is functioning adequately?  Have you had a thyroid ultrasound to determine whether or not your thyroid is swollen/inflamed or whether you have nodules on your thyroid?

It really "is" possible for anxiety to cause that type of pain, but I'd want to make sure everything else "has" been ruled out.

For thyroid function tests, you should have been tested for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH, along with thyroid antibody tests, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb) to determine if you  have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.  If you have results for any of these tests, please posts them, along with the reference ranges, so we can determine the adequacy of the testing performed.
