H1N1 vaccine for thyroid patients

Hi, all, many of you know me as a recently diagnosed (August '09) Hashimoto's patient. My levels are almost where they need to be. I have actually not gotten as sick this fall as I have in the previous years, but I do realize that my immunity is still lower than someone without auto-immune disease.

My doctor's office has just announced they have the Swine Flu vaccine. I am supposed to get a shot for myself and my small child tomorrow, but I'm having second thoughts.

I have read a lot of negatives about the H1N1 vaccine, even some really wild conspiracy theories about the government trying to keep population down by putting  poison in the vaccine.

What do you all feel about it?

:) Tamra

I wouldn't touch it. There is way too much controversy out there coming from DRs. Plus there are NO long term studies done.
Just my opinion, but I would not do it. Not worth the risk to me.

I have never gotten the flu shot, so I don't intend on getting the H1N1 either.

But this is just me.
