Thyroid or?

I am a 54 yr old F, who had an ablation of my thyroid because it was Hyperthyroid. I have been on the same dose of Synthroid for about 12 years and done ok. Now ongoing for almost a year now, am having symptons of Hyperthyroid again. I have been to a Endocronoligist and a cardiologist because my heart races and pounds. They tell me my heart is fine. Endo is going to do a needle biopsy of my calcified looking thyroid gland. Is there any way to tell if the gland is functioning again, without going off my meds for 6 weeks. Thats not possible for me...

If you have current thyroid blood tests, please post the levels and reference ranges, which vary lab to lab, so must come from your own report.

You should be getting, at least, TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 tested, each time you have blood work done.

Have they done a Free T3?  you would think that would be the first step,
Even being on a T4 medication, they should have been able to tell if you had a dramatic increase in your Free T3 level, which would cause you to go Hyper if high. I would Request them to run a Free T3. Good Luck FTB4
