thyroid nodules and symptoms?

Hi! I'm new to the site but am very impressed. I was diagnosed with thyroid nodules last year and just had my first follow up ultra sound and although I haven't gotten the results back yet, I know that one has grown subtantualy even though I have been on levothyroid. My biggest question is has anyone one had the same issues I am having or is this all unrelated. I have horrible insomnia that even ambien does nothing for. My weight is up and down, my glucose levels are up and down. I crave carbs and sweets all the time! I have tachycardia that I take a beta blocker for. I can not tolerate heat and sweat profusly but I also get cold when others do not. My brain stays in a constant fog and I have no energy. Has anyone else had these issues with nodules?

Is TSH the only thing you are being tested for?  You need also to get the Free T3 and Free T4 tests.  Those are the actual thyroid hormones and you won't be able to get a full picture of what's going on without them. If you have thyroid labs, please post them, here and be sure to include reference ranges, since those vary lab to lab and must come from your own report.

Have you been tested for thyroid antibodies?  Nodules are very common with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune disease in which the body sees the thyroid as foreign and produces antibodies to destroy it. With Hashimoto's it's not uncommon for people to go hyper to hypo and back again.

Also be  aware that symptoms can "cross over" -- meaning a particular symptom can apply to either.

Will look forward to seeing your blood tests.  What dosage of levothyroid are you on?  How long have you been on it?

How large is the nodule that's growing?

To be honest it feels like I go between hypo and hyper also I'm 32 and also feel old noone understands how hard this is to deal with unless they are going through it I've only just been told my blood glucose is high and now I've got to have a fasting test, I also believe nodules can cause symptoms but because my tsh is normal they really isn't interested they refuse to do the t3 and t4.

Thank you! I have been feeling like I am going crazy! I feel better knowing I am not the only one with all those symptoms. Everything I have read says that nodules can sometimes cause your thyroid to cycle between hypo and hyper symptoms but it seems like I have some of both at the same time. I also have had normal TSH levels. I also developed type 2 diabetes a few years ago but because my A1C has been good, I am no longer on meds for it BUT my levels still run high at times. I am 36 years old! I'm too young to feel this old!!

I myself have a nodule on my right side of my thyroid I'm due 2 go back for my yearly check up 23rd. Of this month I also am getting the same symptoms as yourself I've had a tsh test and it always comes back within normal range so they won't help my symptoms, my doctor done a full blood work on me and my glucose sugar came back high at 7.7 I'm not sure if its thyroid related but have been told by many with thyroid problems that it can be, they now think I'm pre-diabetic but I just don't see it other than being thyroid related, I've been on beta blockers for heart palps 2 I've had some heart tests which has only came back as tachycardic and that, its a nightmare trying to get them to listen, I have never been given nothing for my nodule in terms of meds.
