Fatigue 4 months post TT

Hi everyone,  It's Irvington Mom.  Anyone about 4 months post TT, on Synthroid 100 mg per day and still feeling out of it and tired?  This weeks TSH is high (I don't know the number) and Free T4 is finally up a bit to 1.01. What if anything can be done about this - the doctor plans (according to last week's visit) to increase my Synthroid.  I want my life back.  I feel like a tired rag.  I'm never that way.  Thanks for your input.

I hope you aren't taking your meds too close to eating! That's what happened to me! No body told me not to eat at least an hour after taking the tablet and I went into hypo real fast! Once I got the hang of it I was much better.  Having said that though, I am an advocate of people who have had TT or RAI to have a T3 supplement. Since the thyroid makes up 20% of the T3 when it's gone there is only 80% for the body to convert. So it is tough going for the body to cope!
Go up a dose of you Synthroid and see how you feel after 4 or 5 weeks ( I know, I know seems like forever!) if you still feel pretty lousy and tired, hit the doctor for some T3 replacement. Lots of people do much better on that.
I had TT in Dec 07 and am still struggling with my doses. I live in Australia and almost impossible to get T3 here. I KNOW if I did have it I would be dancing from the roof tops!
As ellesan says above also, keep those vitamins etc up as the body really needs them to help convert the Synthroid in your body.
Cheers!

I'm so sorry you are still feeling so exhausted! Ugh. This is frustrating stuff. I am 7 weeks post TT and feeling pretty good now, will get my labs done next week. What's your free T3? You might need an increase in Synthroid, but also might need some T3--Cytomel or Armour? Definitely ask your doc about this option. I know many people do a combination to get results.

Also do you know your levels of B12, Vit D? These can all effect energy, mood and lots of other things. If they didn't do these labs I'd ask about it. In the meantime you can start taking some supplments if you're not already and see how you feel. I take Selenium, Vit D, a multi B vitamin, magnesium and calcium.

Hope things get better for you! I remember feeling soooo exhausted and it's not fun. It will get better. Take care. :)
