Hashimotos & bone pain

I had Hashimotos diease in 2005 ,I had my thyroid removed in 1/2006, The Dr said it was the worst case she has ever saw.  My problem is I live in constant pain, fatique, and depression. I feel I have lost my self. I have been to alot of Drs since 10/05 (when pain started)  and no one has answers. I am seeing a rheumtologist and he says I have scerolderma diffuse. I do not think I do. I feel like I am losing my mind. I am going to see the Dr in a couple of days , I think I need to be tested for something else. Does any one know of a diease that is related to hashimtots that would cause these symtpons?

Thanxs

I was just diagnosised with Hashimotos on Monday.  From what I understand it is an autoimmune disorder and that most of the time there is an underlying autoimmune problem  I was told to get checked for Lupus and arthritis.  I also agree with the above.  Hope this helps

Ifupleze is right on the money about the bone scan.  Loss of thyroid and being on replacement meds can lead to demineralization of bone.  I'm going through this right now too.

Did you have any parathyroids damaged or removed when your thyroid was taken out?  This can also lead to a loss of bone density.

Another thing you may want to do is to talk to your rheumatologist about fibromyalgia.  I've been put on Lyrica for the pain from fibromyalgia and it is making a difference.

Hang in there!

One thing I can think of when you see the Dr. is to ask for a bone scan.  This is done to detect any cancer or infections in the bones.  Are you on thyroid replacement since you  had your thyroid removed?  Do you know what your last lab test for TSH read?  It sounds like you are hypothyroid?  Have you tried anti-depressants? If you could post a little more information, it would be helpful.
