Hashi's and Thyroid Cancer.

Is it possible to have both at the same time?

Thyroglobulin antibodies is 18 IU/ml (0-150)     ...my Tg  is <1 ug/l (<55)
... the presence of anti-thyroglobulin antibodies may cause falsely low thyroglobulin  results, including undetectable thyroglobulin results

The presence of thyroglobulin antibodies means that the Tg test is unreliable.  Your Tg could be much higher that the blood tests show.

Tg antibodies are a sign that your body 'thinks' your thyroid is a foreign substance and is fighting it.  It's similar to having a high white blood count if you have an infection.   But in this case, your body is fighting itself instead of a foreign substance.

To answer the question on the first line, that was the case with me.

I can't tell what you are in the last two paragraphs.

I had 3 nodules felt on an exam. After an FNA, they said two were suspicious for Papillary Carcinoma, and one was looked like thyroiditis which my doctor referred to as Hashimoto's.

My blood tests were in the normal range, or just barely outside of it.
I can't remember the exact numbers, but it was what my FNA that diagnosed the hashimoto's.

I had a Total Thyroidectomy which proved that I did indeed have Papillary Carcinoma, on two sides, along with the thyroiditis.

Good luck with your situation.
