follicular lesion

I was told in 2010 that my thyroid was enlarged on the right side only. I had a ultrasound and needle biopsy and it came back benign. It is 4 cen. So every 6 months I have a ultrasound to see if it has changed and it hasn't. Had my second needle biopsy this past October and after 4 pathologist viewed it it came back indeterminate follicular lesion. Now my doctor is pushing sugery to just remove the nodule that is malignant. Said they can't tell if it is cancer till it is out. What are your thoughts on this. Really don't want to have surgery.

I have a 3 cm foliicular nodule, i have had 2 biopsies both neg, but reading up on follicular lesions they can't really tell if its cancerous unless they romove it, so here i am thinking i want mine removed without doctors advice! Good luck whatever your decision is x

4 centimeters?

Thats huge and must be uncomfortable. Its your decision, we cant decide for you. 4 cm cant be good.

If they take it out then they can tell if its cancerous- If not you'll be wondering about it.
