weird symptom

Does hypo levels make you feel like a zombie? I don't ever remember feeling like this. I just switched from levoxyl to senthroid but luckily enough, I felt the "zombie" feeling BEFORE the switch was made so i know it is not from the switch. So is this a symptom of "underactive levels" or is it from too much too soon meds?

How do I do that (post them for myself)? I found out TF means Tissue Fiber, but it doesn't tell me what the # is so I can compare it..

copy your posting with your labs on a new post for yourself asking for help interpreting them.. More people will read and respond to that then this old post of mine... I have no clue what TF means... I'm sorry... I've never seen that before..

Ok I got my blood test results and this is how they read:

TSH                   TF       0.36 - 700
T4 Thyroxine       TF       4.5 - 13.9
T3 Uptake           TF       23.0 - 41.0

What does "TF" mean??

That was one test then I have another one:

T3 Uptake     28         22 - 35
T4                 8.2       4.5 - 12.5 mcg/dL

This is the one I found interesting:

T3 3rd Generation         7.00 M   Reference rage > OR +20 years: 0.40 - 4.50

Mine it seems is way out of whack.  Can someone explain more about these results.

I am also going to post my regular blood test:

what a mess.. You have a right to your medical records.. They CANNOT deny you a copy of them if you request.. They can get in trouble for denying them to you.. Don't take no for an answer... Sorry you are having such a hard time.. I would call the doc office back, tell her you want a copy of your labs when and how can you obtain them.. You have a right to them so talk to her like you know you can have them you just need to find out when and how you can get them....

I called the hospital I was at this morning to get my records. They said I could come down there, fill out a release form and they give me my records. I took the BUS down there to find out it takes up a month to get them. They suggested going to my dr's office have them fax over the release form and they'd fax them over. There I went again on the bus. They faxed over the release and after waiting an hour and still not getting them the secretary says they have to close for lunch, so I asked to call them back. I call and they say "we never got it". Now I was ******* pissed... I had the lady fax it over again and what do you know they got it that time. Since they had to go to lunch I couldn't wait for the fax, but I did ask her if I could get a copy of them for myself. She said she wasn't sure.. Now I was REALLY ******* pissed! I told her those are my records and I have a right to them. She said she would talk to the other secretary when she got back from lunch and I was to call her tomorrow at 9:30 am. If she says no I'm going down there and cause a big stink, getting ALL my records and telling them where they can shove there care.

Thyroid cancer is not very common, I forget the odds but thyroid cancer is very rare.. You can look up the statistics online but it's not unheard of obviously but based on your symptoms i would say hashimotos like me but you would need your test results like TamraW mentioned above .. I wouldn't be so worried about thyroid cancer if i were you though.

This definitely sounds like Hashimoto's. I didn't get the significant weight gain until about nine months after my major symptoms.

Hashimoto's causes the diarrhea one day and the constipation the next. Jittery/anxious one day, tired/depressed the next. If a doctor relies on the TSH test to determine if you have thyroid disease, then if you have Hashi, it could be overlooked.

ALL of this bloodwork is needed:
TSH
FT3
FT4
TGab
ANti-TPO

I went into the ER week before last for pain in my neck and shoulder. They did a CT Scan and found some nodules on my thyroid (One being 1 1/2" big). They did a ultrasound and then a needle biopsy. They never told me if they were hot or cold. I haven't gotten the results back yet, but going to call and insist they fax them on Mon. I've had various symptoms.. diarrhea one day, constipation the next and just feel tired all the time even though I'm sleeping 10 hrs a night. I have also noticed that it seems I have hot and cold spells. No major weight gain or loss. The biggest concern I had was I had severe chest pain the day I left the hospital. They did a EKG and said it was normal, so I was sent home. I did want to know what are the chances of this being cancer? Probably worrying myself for nothing, but I can't help it. Thanks for your help.

I had my labs checked 3 times since having my son. My doc made decisions with my meds based on my labs that have lead to this problem i'm having today. I'm seeing a new endo in a few weeks but I can't test again for another 5 weeks because i just started on my current dosage a few days ago so i'm gonna hang tough with the 88mcg of synthroid and see where i'm at in 5 weeks and go from there...

my last labs:
TSH 102 (0.34 - 5.0)
FT3 1.98 (2.3 - 4.2)
FT4 0.17 (0.9 - 1.8)

Having your baby is a sure pre-curser to having the thyroid go skewiffy! Being Hashimoto's it is more than likely you are having a Hashi attack. Means it can go up and down even within hours, let alone days! It may well be that you need to have the thyroid out, if the meds aren't helping you.
It does take time though, to get the level of meds right. It could well be as I said earlier that it is too low a dose for you. If you were on meds whilst pregnant then the dose should certainly be changed!  Have you had your levels checked recently? You really need to get the full thyroid tests done as it is now 2 months after your baby's birth and this is a crucial time in the getting it right!
Cheers!

I think this all has something to do with having my son a few months ago...

I have hashimotos.. My doc took me off levoxyl for 3 weeks because my "levels" were hyper mode and i was real jittery with high pulse and bp etc... during the 3 weeks off i thought i would feel better but i just kept getting tired and sluggish and not feeling better at all, when i went back my levels were off the chart to the hypo side of things. Now i'm trying to get back on meds and get straight but i don't know which end is up, is it meds is it hypo is it hyper? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....

i have:
diarreah today, constipation yesterday, zombie feeling every day, sore scratchy throat, feels like my thyroid gland is irritated, increase in PVC's off and on, hot flashes, cold intolerance, one good thing "knock on wood" my bp and heart rate has remained normal thru all of this "please stay that way" please please please... But otherwise my body doesn't even know if i'm hyper or hypo from one minute to the next What on earth is going on? even tho i was diagnosed with hashimotos my doc thought i had postpartum thyroiditis because i just had a baby is that throwing me all over the place or is my thyroid gland about to die out finally? Cause i'm all over the place right now regardless of meds....

YES YES and YES! Being a zombie is more than an adequate description of how it feels to be hypo. It could also be that you have anti-bodies which are slowing you down too. Have you had them tested? I know for me having Hashimoto's disease, if I don't get a good sleep regularly I go into zombie land too. IN fact any stress regardless of good sleep turns me into a zombie as well!
It is definitely from the disease not your meds, but having said that, you may actually need a higher dose in a while. If the Synthroid doesn't give you better normality, ask about going up a dose for a while and see what effect that has. Slow going to get the right dosage but it will be worth it.
Cheers
