I forgot to mention, I know you did not have dental implants.
It feels like your teeth are moving.....which will lead to losing the tooth...which led me to dental implants.
I do not want everyone to think I missed her point.
Its a vicioius circle, and now all of us, seem to have uncovered, that Hashimotos gives us dental problems, and more pain that others.
WOW.....I just spent a ton of money because my teeth kept having bone loss.
The dentist and periodontist know I take synthroid and that I have Hashimotos, specifically.
I googled those words, and it turns out, Hashimotos causes peridontal disease!
This is why I had bone grafting done, because of "bone loss". They all said, "I have NEVER seen this before". The grafting was just gone, 8 months later.
You posted a wonderful question, and I thank you for starting this conversation.
I think, that people in this field should list Hashimotos, as a reason you are NOT a candidate for dental implants, with or without bone grafting. I have no idea what they can do for me now.
I wrote all my medications on the packet of forms your have to fill out. I never hid that I take synthroid.
How could they not know this?
I lost a filling right after my TT and within 2 weeks of being put on Synthroid...hhhhmmmm????? interesting!
kitcurious: I will be watching for your post as well

I have scheduled a dental appointment so I will let you know what I find out. Thanks for the input!
Hypo #'s can cause joint/muscle pain/fatigue and your teeth are held in place with ligaments .. that is the only commonaility I can think of and I'm not a medical dental person whatsover, it just came to mind after reading the posts.

It's funny you should mention that, because as of late, my teeth have been very sensitive - especially one of my crowns. I have a hard time with anything that I really have to chew, like meat, cereal and nuts. I'm a night time grinder at times, so I kind of attribute it to that. I'm not on any thyroid meds yet, as I am preparing for surgery. Who knows. It seems like there are a lot of symptoms that can come with thyroid problems, but I sometimes wonder if these problems would have came anyway.
kitcurious - let us know what your dentist has to say about it.
Am glad I am not the only one who can feel her teeth moving. I salivate a lot and feel them move when I chew anything coarse, like whole grain cereal. I'm on 75mcg Levoxyl and my bloodwork came back with a slightly hyper TSH.
I have a dental appointment in a week or so and just plan to ask the dentist
