Hyperthyroidism

54 yr old male recently diagnosed with possible hyperthyroidism? Haven't saw endocrinologist yet. Is it possible to have slow heart rate with hyperthyroidism? Mine is staying around 60 to 70 normally. I feel bad and fatigued constantly. Stay cold not hot. Most of what I have read symptom wise says hypothyroidism but tsh has been .1 and .3 which doctors say is hyper any one else been like this?

It might be central hypothyroidism where your pituitary gland in brain failing to produce enough TSH to stimulate thyroid to produce thyroid hormones.

Anyway check your Free T4 and Free T3 and if its low or normal then start supplementing levothyroxine sodium or desiccated one based on doctors prescription. In hyperthyroidism Free T3 and Free T4 will be on high side, TSH is just a initial marker, treatment always based on actual hormone levels which is Free T4 and Free T3. Also in case of central hypothyroidism no need to check TSH for anything as it will be always low, for comparison consider TSH as fused indicator LED bulb in power switch. Power will be there on line but LED will be OFF always irrespective of whether power present or absent in line and thus find no use looking at it.

Is TSH the only thyroid test that was done?

I agree that symptoms sound more like hypo than hyper.
