Hi I know this is a bit late but that is actually how mine was discovered. As luck would have it that is my field of study and I was lucky enough to get a job with a radiology tech. Mine showed 3 nodules. The biggest about 13 mm and complex. Meaning solid and fluid. Also it lit up significantly when we checked for blood flow. It was labeled as suspicious and I gave it to my doctor and I requested a biopsy. I have been Hypo for 12 years and no one had followed up on the nodules I had as a child. Thank God I got that job and after talking about my unusual tiredness my boss asked when I checked on them last and decided to do a quick scan on me in between patients. FNA showed Papillary Carcinoma. Thank God he did that for me.
virleehol,
Thank you for answering me. Did any of your nodules have vascularity inside, irregular borders like an incomplete halo, etc?
I had 2 areas of Calcification in the bridge of my thyroid. And numerous nodules on both sides. Had fine needle byopsy which came back neg. But my Endo and myself felt it best to remove it.Which turned out to be cancer. I felt it in my gut that I needed to remove it. I made the right choice. I hope that helped you. Virleehol
