I am angry

I have tried to get my posts answered here....I have been constantly ignored.  I am upset and thought I could get some help here.  I guessed wrong.

There are times when I think that if I say, "Please post your FT3, FT4 and TSH" one more time I will go out of my mind!  However, I then think back to when I was a newbie and all the wonderful people who helped me figure out what was going on.  I don't even dare list them...they know who they are...and I'm afraid that my memory would leave some really important person out.

I do the same as Smilerdeb and follow my watched threads first.  Some days, I don't get much beyond that and my PMs.  If I see something falling off the first page, I try to answer as best I can, but I know that's sometimes not so good.  At least the thread gets bumped.

Hi

I am on vacation this week and last week was out of town and unable to post.  Oftentimes if people don't have experienc with what you are asking or if the  # of members avail. to post differs,  We try our best to answer as many members as we can and/or welcome them to our community.  The Welcome Message above is a great idea of how our community is such a wonderfully solid support system for our members.

I am so sorry that you have felt this way and wish and/or suggest if this happens again that you PM a CL or another member and sometimes we can even send you link to a member who may not always post but can help.

It's an enormous amt of posts we get on a daily basis and it is very hard to get to them all on a daily basis as we volunteer our time and try the best we can.

WELCOMe TO OUR COMMUNITY!

I, too have asked questions that didn't get answered right away or maybe not at all, if they got pushed down the line by newer posts, but that's nothing compared to the help I've gotten from this site and the friends I've made; and like everyone else, I see the same names responding to the questions (including mine).  Where would we be without all of you?

For myself, I leave for work at 4:00 am and don't get home until around 4:30 pm and I am generally in bed by 7:00 pm so, like others, I don't have a lot of time on the computer.  I DO try to answer some, but I feel so new at this whole thyroid thing (only 1 year), that I fear giving someone the wrong answer.

I might suggest that if you have a very specific question, you might try PMing someone - you'll surely get an answer then.  AND as loonette said - you can always go back and read previous posts, since some questions have been asked and answered many times - that has helped me immensely.

Thanks to all of you who "hang out" here all the time and have given us so much help.

When I first came to this forum...I too was a newbie, was scared I was going to die and needed answers.
So with each post I posted, I clicked on 'watch this post' and in your account, you can see the posts you have made and the replies and I always check there first before I go to the main forum here in case someone has left a question to a reply I made on a posting.

As many have said here .....most of us do work, we do get tired and persoanlly myself...working from 8am - 11pm 6 days a week at present, I too try to help others as much as the body and brain allows.

Do as I said regarding watching your posts and you will see they are being answered.

I am one of the 'culprits' who does answer a lot of posts and this makes other postings go on the other pages (not the main page) but I wont apologise for that.
We all do what we can as a coommunity to help everyone we possibly can.
If the posting has not been answered, its not usualy been ignored, its because some feel they dont have the full knowledge to answer that post (myself included).

Lisa......we are all Hashi's and Graves and Cancer sufferers and we all need each other.

Where would you be without some of the info posted here?

Very alone.

So please be patient ....please bump up yr postings if they get 'lost' and be kind to yourself as stressing out will only make your health worse.

Hugs My Friend and I hope you are researching all you can on the net in regards to your condition.
Research is the biggest and by far the most effective way to win the battle.

Have a beautiful day :)

I am so pleased you took the time to reply to lisadee48. I am sure she is grateful for your input.
I also want to say, thanks for noticing us who do spend the time replying to those who post here. I can't answer for the others, but I personally enjoy reading others posts. I feel their pain and their anguish, as they struggle with this rotten silly gland that controls our lives.  I have suffered too much and lost too much to allow anyone else to suffer. I spend up to 18 hours a day on my computer with my ebay selling. I am one of the few fortunate ones who can spend that amount of time on the forum to help others.
I am an advocate of getting the general public educated in how debilitating this thyroid issue can be. I want you all to get better! Learn about your disease, educate the doctors, get the help you need!
Don' t think for a moment your 2 cents is not ever welcomed here!  We are all in the same boat. No matter what our diagnosis. We all take turns in rowing when the others can't.We all sing sea shanties to keep our spirits up! Some of us are upchucking over the sides when the others row...then when the rowers feel sick , the others take over.
I will never get tired of rowing for any of you.

Hi,
I just wanted to put my 2 cents which is all it's worth.  I too have had questions that may not have been answered, but as someone new to this site I have found it invaluable to look at other posts.  I also search for posts that are similar to mine.  It has been a great service to me just to see what others are going through and/or thinking.  A big shout out has to go to some of the names I see all the time:  Smilerdeb, redheadaussie, chitchatnine, stella5349, laura1967, goolarra, and if I forgot anyone I'm sorry.  I often wondered how these people are able to post day after day.  Don't they get tired of doing it over and over again?  Telling their story over and over, analyzing others lab results, etc.!!  Thanks to all who volunteer their time to this site to help us feel a little more like we're not alone in this thyroid craziness.

I'll take my 2 cents back now.  :)

Hi Lisa, I truly am sorry your feel ignored. There are many many people who post daily here and as the day wears on the posts are often pushed further down the line. Not many people go further back than the page where the main posts are.  The actual amount of people now posting on the board as newbies has gone up dramatically in the past year or so. So many posts get pushed down, unanswered.
Having said that, also many people on here are also looking for answers. They are not able to answer other peoples posts, because they too, don't know the answers!
Don't forget that this is an American based site. It has people from mainly US online. I live in Australia so the time difference is huge. When I post my journals here in the afternoon, it is night time in USA, by the time US morning comes, many of my posts or journals or comments have been pushed way down the line and rarely does any one see them. Sometimes that hurts and I feel ignored, especially when I am having a rotten time, but it's ok, because I am aware of the reasons. By making friends on the site, I have a good support network going now and they take the time to look at my regular posts and I do the same in return.

I try hard to answer older posts as i know how frustrating it is to be waiting for answers.
I have much medical knowledge, but when it comes to say Graves disease and RAI, I won;t answer those posts. Therefore won't show myself up by posting something I know little about! I will answer things I know lots about and I try to help those people.
It is hard when we need answers straight away, but do try to understand you are one of many here looking for answers. You aren't being ignored in the true definition of the word, but perhaps people just didn't know how to help answer your questions. perhaps posting on the Doctor's Forum might help.
  Cheers!

Laura---understood...thanks for the explanation.  I am not a 'usual' board poster.  I appreciate the kind clarification.  I got a little chuckle over the your comment on dealing with thyroid disease yourself...I get it!  I appreciate you taking time to clarify...have a great evening.

I would like to comment on something to you Lisa and everyone here please.
We as community leaders here are not on a payroll.....we are volunteered positions. So we do not have someone on this forum constantly around the clock answering questions.....unfortunately. :)
When a question is posted, please do not expect an answer within the first hour or two of posting. This is a patient community and many of us work. So you need to give time for people to get home from work, eat, say hello to their families, before attaching themselves to the computer to answer questions. When each of us has time, we check in and help answer questions. BUT most of the questions and discussions are from patients just like you....and ALL of us are still dealing with our thyroid diseases. It is the most difficult road I have ever been on. We all understand wanting answers "Now"....we have all been there.
We all want the best for each other as well. I hope this helps appease your feeling of being ignored, as you were not.
I went back and looked at the times you were posting to see where there could have been a problem, and noticed they were being bumped within an hour or two of being posted.
Please try to be patient everyone and understand we are doing our best.
Thank you!

If you look at my posts I am constantly having to bump myself up as I see others get answers.  With that said there is no need to get so violent.  Almost everyone of my posts I have reposted, once I was told thats what I should be doing.  Yes I do eventually get answers but for some reason.....that I have not understood I have to be persistent in reposting.  I hope you feel good about trying to call me out...I understand the importance of this board and dont need to be lectured...I was just expressing my frustration with the lack of response...actually I keep thinking I am posting incorectly...and yes I am frustrated.

( Here you are thanking the board and community for helping you)

I am not going farther back than what I have posted above on your posting history. Your post here about being ignored is simply false, for the exception of 1 that I listed above.

Many people here - including Laura1967 ( a Co Leader thyroid) has tried to support you.

I may have missed your posts and I apologize - but I am one person that carries a huge load on this board and I am doing my best.

I am sorry you are not satisfied - but attempts have been made to support you. Your thank you post clearly states that.

I believe you are anxiuos and scared ( rightfully so  - may I add) and are extremely frustrated with what's going on with your health. Many of us have been there and still going through the fear of the what if's ... etc..  We are not here to fight with anyone. This is the best support forum I have ever seen.

Putting a post like this on the board of being ignored doesn't help anyone. It causes more pain for all of us.

We want to give you the most attention as possible with the best offerings we can.
