Dr. APPT UPDATE

For those of you who remember my problem with the irregular cycles I went to see my gyno today. She did an ultrasound (not your normal one). She discovered a 4.5cm cyst on my left ovary and a slightly smaller one on the right. She thinks maybe endemetriosis. She also did a biopsy, but not sure on what. (uterus maybe), all I know is that it was painful. She also did another pelvic exam. Conclusion is that the left ovary and the cysts will be removed. They cysts have shown to have grown since Nov. they were 2cm in Nov.

The only good part is that maybe this is the answer to my pains: lower back, abdominal pain on the left side, pelvic pain and pressure.  I was just glad it was not all in my head....My regular PCP told me when I complained that i was most likely menopausal and for the pain to take alleve, she never even did a pelvic exam.

The surgery will be done at the same time as the surgery for the tumor in the abdominal/pelvis area that is underneathe the aorta. The vascular surgeon will do his part and then the gyno will come in and do her part.

Not worried about it, just glad they are finally figuring me out ...I wil let you know about the results from the biopsy.

Best of wishes to you concerning your surgery and biopsy results.

I read your post and cringed concerning:  ( The only good part is that maybe this is the answer to my pains: lower back, abdominal pain on the left side, pelvic pain and pressure.  I was just glad it was not all in my head....My regular PCP told me when I complained that i was most likely menopausal and for the pain to take alleve, she never even did a pelvic exam. )

I am having a lot of the same symptoms.  With me my monthly was stopped point blank on a heavy (2nd) day by a massive clot.  Since the pain and pressure on my stomach back, and bladder is horrible.  I was told this is normal for someone my age though.....???  This pain and lightheadedness does not seem normal.
I had the pelvic transvaginal US done in 2006 and it showed a 7 mm area of dystrophic calcification of the endometrial canal (toward the lower uterine segment).  I was told not to worry about.  The back pain has never left but the pap's were good.  My blood test for CEA came back normal though some I'm guessing it is alright.

Anyhow this post is not about me.  Sorry.  I wish you the very very best of wishes and pray that everything turns out great for you.  Keep us posted.  Take care;

Amy

Thank goodness you didn't just take the PCP's words for and you kept looking for an answer.  You must be relieved to have a diagnosis and a solution.  Good luck with your upcoming surgery.  I hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery.  :)
