Waiting on Results

I had labs done on Monday.  I requested all the good stuff:

TSH
FT4
FT3
Reverse T3
Ferritin
B12 and Folate
Vitamin D3
And A1C since I am diabetic as well.

Here is the response when I inquired about my results.  My actual numbers will not be released until 4/12 according to assistant.  She had told me that I could switch to natural thyroid but she wanted to get my numbers first.  Here are my previous numbers.  She did not test for FT3 the last two times even though I am on Cytomel.  I know we really can't tell anything until I get the actual numbers I just think that she should not have told me I could switch to natural thyroid and now she has me switched to the Synthroid name brand which will be $25 instead of the $8 for natural.
11/19/2012

TSH- 0.99 (0.35-5.5)
FT4 - 0.89 (0.9-1.8)

7/30/2012

TSH - 0.13 (0.35-5.5)
FT4 - 0.94 (0.9-1.8)

"She would benefit from Vitamin B12 orally, her T3 is fine but her TSH could be a bit lower. I think we should increase her Synthroid to 150mcg po qd rather than switch her to Armour thyroid. DAW it please. And let's recheck in 6 weeks."

Why did you want sex hormones tested? FSH test is reliable after menopause, but can't predict where one is in the perimenopausal stage.  I just read an article on WebMD discussing a new method to predict when a woman's last period would be/indicating when she reached menopause.  That would be great, no?  Since you are close to menopause, have you had a dexa scan? If your vit D is low, might want to work that in at some point.

She has checked it this time but has not given me my numbers, and the last time was July of last year.  I probably had been on the Cytomel for about 6 months at this time.  I asked her this time to check that with all the other things listed above.  I had also asked for her to check my sex-hormones but when they drew blood the nurse said the doctor said that there is nothing to measure there.....?????  I am close to menopause and my breasts are very sore.  So they did not check that.  I agree I need a new doctor.

How does she know your T3 is "fine" if she hasn't checked it?

Have you considered a different doctor?
