Do you know if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? It's quite common for someone with Hashi to alternate hypo/hyper. It's also very common for those with Hashi to have thyroid nodules. Most are nothing to worry about, unless they have odd characteristics, or grow fast; there's usually no reason to have them removed. You need to have thyroid antibodies tested, if you haven't already.
Do you have any current thyroid test results that you could post? You should, at least, be getting TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 to monitor thyroid function. Whenever you post results, please be sure to include reference ranges, since these vary lab to lab and must come from your own report.
Oh my, it sounds like you have a lot going on! I always perk up at the MS posts because I was tested for it at Mayo in February. Thankfully I did not have it. It is something else. I do have thyroid disease though. An ultra sound last August detected a multi- modular mass on my left thyroid. It had been there for years I figured with as long ad I'd been having symptoms. Any way, after an inconclusive biopsy, I had mine removed bcs it was growing larger. None of mine were cancerous. They did the pathology while I was still under. My doctors said that many people have thyroid nodules and don't even need to have them removed. It will just depend on your situation.
You should discuss all of this with your doctors. and since it sounds like yours arent working on your behalf, could you see someone else? I absolutely know how frustrating it is. I saw 14 doctors before I was diagnosed with my current illness and it was a miserable uphill battle the whole way. Please don't give up until you have answers!!
