I take Cytomel and Eltroxin for hypothyroid(born without one). Right now, I have a cold. A measly common cold, that I can't take anything for. I experience an incredibly rapid heartbeat and tremors when i take ANYTHING for cold or flu. My doctor told me to expect this. I've tried many, many different types, brands of cough syrup and pills, advils, tylenols but anything with a decongestant makes me feel like im on speed. Is this really normal? I can take medicine for coughs, but as an asthmatic, i'm used to coughing, it's the stuffy, runny eyes nose and head that kills me. Do I really have to suffer? Has anyone found anything that works for them? Am I just really sensitive to it? Also, it's hard in my job, I don't take much time off at all as I am usually very healthy, but my manager still seems to give me a look or a tone when i call in sick, as though he doesn't believe I can't take the medicine, just won't. Anyone else have these problems?
Maybe I should add that I had a hole in my heart and have a heart murmur, maybe that has something to do with it.
