Muscle pain

Hello, I´m Adriana Porto, I´m 27 and I was Dx hypothyroidism 2 weeks ago, I present a chronical muscle pain since 7 years and I start to take synthoid about a week ago. I know that the alteration of the level of calcium in my organism can produce me that pain but I want to know if it gonna desapear or Ca desorder produce a irreversible damage in my muscles? because I can´t hold on anymore with it, it´s so painfull in my muslces. I want to know what can I do to know if my muscles are ok or have an irreversible damage. the CPK and PCR always are high in the blood test and I get tired so fast, I even stand up too much time (30 min). What can I do? it´s possible that I could have another desease? I´m from Colombia and my english is not so good, I hope you understand me. thank you.

Hola Adriana

Your muscle pain could very well be due to your hypothyroidism.  One week on Synthroid is not enough time for the medicine to be effective.  It takes 4-6 weeks for Synthroid to reach a stable level in your body.  You should have your thyroid levels retested in 5-6 weeks and be sure the doctor orders free T3 and free T4, along with TSH.  Most likely, you will need medication adjustments after that.  I would say to give it some time and see if your muscle pain goes away.  You are tired because you are hypo.  I think your symptoms will go away once you are on the proper dose of Synthroid.
