just added the ft3 blood test

As I wrote 2 days ago, that I had a hemihyroidectomy done 3 months ago, was feeling fine the first 6 weeks, but no its going down hill. With hypo symptoms. I had a suspicious substernal nodule removed.
The one symptom I am really worried about is palpitations, sleepless nights, worried,  fatigue.

I just did ft3 today. 2.68 pg/ml  ref (1.71-3.71)

Tsh   3.92uiu/ML   ref (0.35-4.94)

T4f   0.80ng/dl      ref (0.7-1.48 )

Calcium 9mg/dl        ref ( 8.8-10.8)

Any comments would be appreciated,

Your FT4 definitely needs a boost.  A good thyroid doctor will understand that just being in the bottom of the range isn't enough to alleviate symptoms for many of us.  Also, AACE recommended many years ago that TSH range be changed to 0.3-3.0.  As you can see, your lab and most labs have been very slow to adopt that new range.  In this more reasonable range, your TSH would be high, indicating hypo.  Once again, practically speaking, a TSH of 3.0 is too high for many of us, too.

Thyroid math:

upper limit of range - lower limit of range     1.48 - 0.7 = 0.78
your result - lower limit of range     0.7 - 0.7 = 0.1
divide second result by first and multiply by 100     0.1 / 0.78 * 100 = 13%

To find midrange:

(upper limit of range + lower limit of range) / 2     (0.7 + 1.48) / 2 = 1.09

I goofed above!  Sorry.

Thank you very much.
How do u calculate this thyroid  math?
I have never been on any medications.
Hopefully will see a doctor soon, all the Dr. I have seen would apparently follow the range, and you are off to go. You should be fine, that's  what the nrs  tell,,,??????
That's  why i don't hesitate  going to the Dr.

Your FT4 is very low.  It should be closer to midrange (1.19 on your range).

Considering your low FT4, FT3 doesn't look too bad at all.  It's right about midrange, and the rule of thumb for FT3 is upper half of range.  So, the good news is that it looks like you are converting well.

What are you currently taking for meds?  How long have you been on meds?  Any dosage changes since starting?
