My test result are puzzling

Hi there, I was diagnosed with an inactive Thyroid about 3 yrs ago, so was prescribed  Eutroxsig 200 m. Haven't had any problems till now, i am very tied and have no energy. Had my bloods done last wk and my T4 are normal but my T3 are through the roof. Think my doc said 8.9. This has her puzzled as she said it is usually the T3 that is high if you have the wrong dose. I have the opposite symptoms than what i should be having, I would like to know if anyone has any idea what the problem would be?

I believe Eutroxsig is t4.

Without knowing your actual levels, all three done at the same blood draw, with Lab reference ranges, it would be hard to tell what what is going on with your thyroid.

I'm pretty sure FT3 normal levels here are 2.9 to 6.9. I am 8.9 and rising. I am not sure about the "normal range" for FT4, however i have been told by doc that i am in "normal range".  I am also confused with what they have me taking..is Eutroxsig T3 or T4? All very confusing to me.

I am confused too.  what was 13 and what is normal. i.a. what are your Labs reference range.

Anithyroids has gone up and down - do you mean dosage.

If your levels are normal, you should be off ATDs to see if you go into remission. A year without ATDs concludes to remission to where you don't need meds. However, you still need to be tested to see if you stay permanently in remission.  Most don't. Each time you go back on ATDs the less chance for the next remission.

TSH relates if we are hyper or hypo.  FTs relates to what kind of thyroid issue. Graves,  Hashi, adrenals, allergies and so on.

I am so confused about blood results...and treating according to.

I started out  a year ago (when first diagnosed with Hyper/Graves) with a TSH 0.01
was never aware of other numbers until recently.

Since my antithyroid has gone up & down along the way...but the TSH number always the same.

On the most recent visit....when I thought/felt was hyoer again, he said 'no, blood results are 13 which is normal'

Why do you think he is not acting on the TSH????

Its driving me mad as I feel so unwell at the mo...but doc think I should be ok.
I would increase/decrease antithyroid if was sure what way to go but I/m not. So have to suffer now till I see him again the end of January

HelloTam from aust,

What is your TSH, FT-4 and FT-3 levels with Labs reference ranges.

Dose adjustment is not done by t3.  Unless you are central hypothyroid or taking t3 alone, TSH is the ruling level to dose changes.

However, you could be having a promlem with t3 depending on your FT-4 and TSH  levels.
