My vote for Best Thyroid Cancer Doctor in Seattle,WA

I had my TT on Feb.18th through the Seattle Cancer Care and just want to tell everyone that MY doctor was the best. Her name is Dr. Sara Javid. In all the doctors that I have seen in the last 7 months not one of them comes close to her in anyway. She was very kind, very educated and very understanding to my condition. So, I highly recomend her to anyone going through Thyroid Cancer.

Although the other doctors had thought that the cancer was spreading, Dr. Javid was correct in her thought that it was just inflamation as a result of the FNA. My surgery went great and Dr. javid says that the cancer was just in my thyroid and had not spread to my lympnodes at all. : )  I go see the RAI doctor this friday.

So, what I have learned....is...do not worry about what the cancer is or what it is doing...because the doctors will only be able to tell you the TRUE story (DX) after surgery. I was expecting the worst news ever and was just dumb founded (but very happy) when after surgery I was told that everything was going to be just fine.

What a roller coaster ride!  My thanks to all of you who put up with me during this whole thing...it really can make a person crazy with all of the "what if's"  I now see that I was my own worst enemy by not staying positive.

My best wishes go out to all of you.
PS> has anyone condsider having a place on this forum where we can give reviews of the doctors that we see? I think that Doctors like Dr. Sara Javid should get a big gold star.

Better having the scare then the cancer -

Show that off proud Tammy!!

Keep us posted and please do me a favor......

Read through the board occassionally and read about people that are in your situation. You know the newbies..... :)

When you read their situations - look back at how far you have come and post to them!

They need to hear your story on how you almost gave up and now you have a second chance! - a super healthy one!

You have knowledge .. share it.

Good Luck with the RAI -  I am so happy for you!

Thank you. I am doing great! I have a big knot where my scare is but that is from a "blood Bubble" that makes me still feel pressure. I had problems with getting sick "throwing up" yuk! right after surgery so I broke one of my internal stiches. The doctor says that my body will absourb the blood knot in a few weeks.  Other then that, no problems at all. My neck feels fine. I can not wait for the scare on my neck to heal. People look at me strange like I was attacked or something. LOL

It is now onto the RAI...

Best wishes, Tammy
