Need help!!!!!!

Hi All,

I am a 28 year ols woman.I have been suffering from Hashi's hypothyroid for almost 5 years. But in vain i have no good results at all.I recently got a blood test done and this is what it has to say -

Thyroid anitbodies - 113 (normal range 0-40)
Thyroid peroxidase - 4800 (normal range 0---34)
TSH  - 5.5
FT3 - 3.2
FT4 - .96

I was previously taking Synthyroid 100 mcg.I never felt better on  it.Then the doctor added 10 MCg of cytomel.Still dint feel good.So switched to Armour thyroid.Startes with grain. After three weeks had my blood test and the results are mentioned above. The doctor advised me to increase by 1/2 a grain. So currenlty taking 1.5 grains. But my only concern was why is my Thyroid peroxidase so high!!!!! does it mean its dangerous. Will it lead to thyroid cancer. Please help me humble souls.

Don't know anything about peroxidase, sorry.  You should try posting this on the drs forum.  Maybe even post to Graves Lady.  She has a wealth of knowledge on things most of us have never heard about.  Good luck and let us know what it means.

I have not heard of this one yet so I can't offer any advice or information.  I wanted to respond and say that I too have been diagnosed with Hashi's and am 5 weeks post op for Total Thyroidectomy.
