New and confused (not to mention worried)

Can anyone give me a hand interperting these labs and US results? The forum said that it was closed to new postings and I need a hand.

My US came back as diffusely heterogenous on the right and the left has at least three hypoechoic nodules. The largest nodule is approx. 2.5cm and contains some internal echos.??  The impression is multi-nodular goiter and a dominant mass on the left side.

My TSH 3rd generation, Free T-4 by dialysis, and Free T-3 by dialysis are as follows TSH 0.705 in 8/07 and 0.625 in 4/07. My FT4 0.76 in 8/07 and by dialysis 1.6 in 5/07. My T3 was 2.9 by dialysis.

As you can see my docs are watching the labs pretty closely, but this was the first US ever. The results of the TSH are riding the border badly (0.3 Lowest) but the T-3 and T-4 are right in the middle of the range. ?????????????  Any help?? I don't understand this at all. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You didn't state  the date for T-3.  All three has to be done at the same blood draw. FTs if you are estrogen by whatever means.

What are Labs reference ranges.

And, what is meant by dialysis? I never heard of this in relationship to thyroid testing.

Thanks for any info. Guess I'm just a little nervous and I hate that I can't get answers when I need them. I live in a rural area and with my insurance I only have a limited number of physicians to choose from, and I can't seem to get straight answers from them, so I appreciate your trying to help :-}

I don't have knowledge on the labs but I would think that a biopsy would be next step for certain .... it is called an FNA (fine needle aspiration) and that will give you better idea if possibly cancer or not.  The hypoechoic means solid I think and the hetero words mean of many compositions (cyst,solid, etc.,) I think ???  Multi nodular is more than one nodule with biggest on on the left side, etc., etc.
