HypoThyroid concerns

My daughter had a TSH level of 282.6 (yes, that's the correct number!) when she was first diagosed with Hypothyroidism 3 years ago at age 10.  Despite "normal" levels now after years of replacement therapy, she still has many symptoms such as anxiety, mood swings, OCD, lacking concentration, joint pain, intolerance to cold etc.  Are there other tests she should have done besides Free T4, Total T3 and TSH?  Also, has anyone tried Armour replacement therapy?

You should get into contact with AR-10.  They have a lot of thyroid knowledge.  I was just reading a response from them regarding another high TSH of 268 and this is a very serious situation that needs to be taken care of right away.  Please read AR-10's response to the high TSH.

Hello!  I'm sorry to hear that you daughter's TSH is sooo low.  I had a TSH of 28 about 10 weeks ago and at that time I changed from Synthroid to Armour.  I am pleased with Armour so far, and am waiting for my blood test results to see where they are now.  I can tell you that once I started taking Armour, I felt a whole lot better, so it must be working.

I'm not sure what other tests should be done, but there are a lot of very knowledgeable people in this forum that can answer that question.  There is also a post for those of us on Armour thyroid and working on dosages.  There is a 2nd post called Armour #2 (or something like that).  You can get a lot of information about Armour from those posts as well.
