I totally agree with Tamra. So many RAI and surgical thyroid patients find that just T4 meds do not get them 100%. - some definately do though.
This is where read... read ... read - is strongly encouraged. When you learn the tests needed and what meds may assist you. Every thyroid patient has a different senerio that gets them back to where they want to be. Its just finding that.
Posting your lastest labs as said above - may get more thoughts rolling here to help you figure things out more quickly
I had bad muscle pain before Cytomel. Unfortunately, my old endo didn't believe in treating FT3 levels. Too many endos only treat with Synthroid. The pain in my calves and feet is gone since starting Cytomel. My FT3 levels were already in the upper 1/3 of the range before Cytomel, but I'm on a low dose (5) and I still feel much better with it.
But like Lazymoose said, post your levels.
:) Tamra
It is helpful to post you latest thyroid lab results with the ranges your lab used : tsh free t3 and free t4. Others can / will offer insight.
You may be hypo on labs and symptoms - pain is one symptom.
You may need T3, many report pain relief was relieved. Sometimes T4 - your synthroid may not be enough.
