I thought my thyroid level was high and I cut out taking my synthroid. my TSH got down in the 29's and I started having "spells" with my heart and rushed to the ER 4 times with heart irregularities. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days and they really couldn't find anything out. they said it could be the low thryoid. I restarted my meds and I am still having problems but each spell with my heart is less severe. I thought I was going to die. It was awful. My blood pressure would shoot up over 200 with these spells and I would just be scared to death. It is encouraging to hear from others that low thyroid does effect our heart. I have been back on meds for 2 weks now and hope it will soon be completely better. thanks. Bev
Yes my heart did the same thing. It did it when I was hypo, and until it got to where itwas suppose to be. My best advise.....be patient coming from sommmeone that wan't with her thyroid and it got me into more trouble by not being patient. The thyroid is a pain in the ars andscrews the whole body up. I feel great now BUT it took me a long time to get here!!! Good luck!!
First off I'm sorry that you've had such a bad year, I know where you are coming from. Everytime my Synthroid is increased my heart goes crazy, it actually feels like I'm having a heart attack, I've been to the ER more times than I care to admit and everything always checks out fine with my heart. As for the weight gain I'm in the same boat it's so hard to lose weight with thyroid problems but I have found that a low-carb lifestyle works better than anything else for me but I hate doing it, LOL!! I hope that you feel better soon.
Take Care
