Yes, he did send it to the lab to make sure. He said that it was fine. The nurse told me of all the surgeries they do all year they usually have about 2 who after they send it to the lab for a second check they have had to go back in immediatly to take out the other thyriod since they found cancer cells. So that is a low chance, but I am glad my doctor did it anyway. I am almost back to normal routine. But don't feel good when I lift anything to heavy. As I am sure they told you not to lift or do anything strenous for 2 weeks. Other than that everything is fine. Sleeping didn't bother me at all after the 9th day. Finally.
80% of the time the other side takes over .. CONGRATS on prelim. biopsy .. pls keep us posted~
C~
Glad to hear your results were good. Did your Dr. send the biopsy in for a second or just the initial read during surgery? Are you back in to your normal routine yet or still taking it easy?
It's been 1 week and a day for me since my partial thyriod surgery. I feel great not on any type of pain medicine. Not even tylenol. I didn't have to take anything after the third day. But the stretching and pulling sensation on my neck is uncomfortable. Also feel like my neck movement is limited. I accidentally looked up quickly today and felt like I pulled a stitch. Did not feel good. But I still don't feel comfortable driving since I have that limited range of motion on my neck. I can't wait until I am totally back to normal. I am just very blessed that my results came back benign, especially, since thyriod cancer runs in my family.
Yes, I think that was when he said to check. I am kind of foggy brained yet. Sleeping is very uncomfortable - I can sleep for a few hours and then I need to get upright - I need to cough - sort of a post nasal drip or **** in my lungs - not sure which. I feel like my neck is stretched - was humorous trying to give my husband a kiss in bed - I felt like Frankenstein no head movement.
My doctor said that in two months is routine on checking for thyriod levels since it takes that long for your body to start showing symptoms.
I just had my right partial thyriod removed last Thursday. Yesterday, I saw my Doctor and the results came back benign also. I also go back in two months to check my thyriod levels. Slepping is still uncomfortable, right? The pressure I also don't like.
Good question. I see him for a follow up in 2 weeks. he said to call if I was syptomatic, and that we would take a blood test later to see what my levels are. Back in Dec 07 my TSH was 4.29 - so we will see. I would like to see it come down.
COngratulations on the benign diagnosis.
How long did he say, before any signs of the the right side taking over, or when you will no that it is not going to.......
